The Mac app

Pickology processes photos, previews, metadata, and local AI results on the Mac. It does not upload your photo library to Pickology or use photos to train a model.

Web Remote

Web Remote is an optional HTTP server running on your Mac. When enabled, previews travel directly between your Mac and a paired device on the same local network. Pairing requires the six-digit PIN shown by the Mac, and the saved browser session uses an HttpOnly, SameSite cookie. Because local HTTP is not transport-encrypted, use Web Remote only on a trusted home or studio network. Pickology does not relay the session through this website, Azure, or another cloud service.

This website

This static website does not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, accounts, cookies, or contact forms. Azure may retain ordinary infrastructure logs needed to operate and secure its hosting service.

Diagnostics

The app's Copy Diagnostics action includes version, macOS version, hardware capacity, feature state, and item counts. It deliberately excludes photo bytes, filenames, folder paths, EXIF, and GPS information. Nothing is sent automatically.

Deletion and backups

Pickology uses recoverable macOS Trash APIs instead of permanent deletion. Backup verification compares file contents locally. Review every proposed action before confirming it.

Support

When reporting a problem to the person who provided your preview build, use the app's Copy Diagnostics action. Do not include private photos, folder paths, EXIF, or other material you do not intend to share.
